Piece #27 - Art and Tattoos

Here's a bad idea, mixing OCD and tattoos. I will say that so far, I have one tattoo. My wife is another story, she has eight tattoos so far, but she is considering another. I believe the new one she wants would be in memory of her mother. [Although, there is a rumor that she is changing her mind.] I wouldn't mind having another tattoo myself, but as always I'm not sure what I want. I thought about an Autism puzzle piece and I've looked at several different people's tattoos on the same idea; some I've like and some I wondered what they were thinking. I'm still researching the best possible design, but I definitely would like to get a new one.

The hardest part about tattoos is I want to make sure that whatever I get inked on me is something I'll like until I'm dead because there's nothing worse than looking in the mirror and having a really nasty tattoo looking back at you! I have one tattoo right now on my upper right arm. It has the insignia of a thunderstorm (meteorologist used to use the symbol back before all the new technology started rolling out), it has my wife's initials and a bible verse, Matthew 16:3 (it fits with the symbol). I wanted to have one of my characters that I've created tattooed on me, but I wanted to get it published first before I jog on and permanently set on my skin.

As I have mentioned in previous blogs, I'm an artist - at least by heart. I can draw pretty well, but not commercially. We've (the twins and I) been working on a few characters that might support this blog. They are animal looking things with puzzle shapes on them. I'm not sure in what direction I want them to be in, but it should be fun. I still like to draw now and then when I have a chance, but that comes few and far between right now. Maybe if this animal thing comes together, I might do some more drawing. Lately, most of my energy has been placed in my writing so the art has had to take a back seat. (I did mention back in my first few blogs that I met my wife in a ceramic class. So art used to be a big part in my life.) I still yearn for the day that I can work on art again and maybe even sell a few pieces of my own. {By the way, there is a Christopher Wheat in the New England area that is a professional artist...he does some nice stuff.} I can proudly say that all my girls have excellent talent in some form of art.

  1. I have two tattoo's. If it was up to me I would get tons more. My wife generally is in charge of the funds and priorties though.
